How to Avoid Paying Interest Charges

Your due date is at least 25 days after the close of each billing cycle. We will not charge you any interest on purchases if you pay your entire balance by the due date each month. We will begin charging interest on cash advances and balance transfers on the transaction date.

How We Calculate Your Balance

We use a method called "average daily balance (including new purchases)." See your Cardmember Agreement for more details.

Total Interest Calculation

We calculate total interest charges by determining the daily balance for each balance type, dividing the Annual Percentage Rate by 365 to get the daily periodic rate, multiplying the daily balance by the daily periodic rate, then totaling those amounts for the billing period.

Making Payments

You may make payments by phone, through the SoFi mobile app, on the SoFi website at sofi.com, or by mailing a check to SoFi Bank, N.A., PO Box 2988, Omaha, NE 68103-2988.

Payments must be received by 5:00 p.m. ET on the due date shown on your statement. Payments received after 5:00 p.m. ET or on a non-business day will be credited as of the next business day.

Payments from SoFi accounts will post immediately. Payments from external accounts will post no later than three business days after the date you submit the payment.
How We Allocate Your Payments

We generally apply your minimum payment to the balance with the lowest APR first, then to balances with higher APRs. Amounts paid above the minimum will be applied first to the balance with the highest APR, then to balances with successively lower APRs.

Late Charges

If your minimum payment is not received by the payment due date, a late fee of up to $41.00 may be charged to your account. Additionally, if you are more than 60 days late in paying your minimum payment, your APR may be increased to the Penalty APR as described in your Cardmember Agreement.

Prepayment

You may pay all or part of your balance at any time without penalty.

Credit Balances

If your account has a credit balance of $1.00 or more, we will refund the credit balance within seven business days of your written request. If a credit balance remains on your account for six consecutive billing cycles, we will make a good-faith effort to refund the credit balance to you.

Forbearance Plans and Payment Arrangements

If you are experiencing financial difficulty, you may be eligible for a forbearance plan or payment arrangement. Contact us at 844-945-7634 or through the SoFi mobile app to discuss your options.

Credit Reporting

We may report information about your account to credit bureaus. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report. This account is issued and administered by SoFi Bank, N.A.

What to Do If You Think You Find a Mistake on Your Statement

If you believe there is an error on your statement, write to us at:

In your letter, give us the following information:

  • Account information: Your name and account number.
  • Dollar amount: The dollar amount of the suspected error.
  • Description of problem: If you think there is an error on your bill, describe what you believe is wrong and why you believe it is a mistake.

You must contact us within 60 days after the error appeared on your statement. You must notify us of any potential errors in writing. While we investigate, you are not obligated to pay the amount in question.

Your Rights If You Are Dissatisfied with Your Credit Card Purchases

If you are dissatisfied with the goods or services that you have purchased with your credit card, and you have tried in good faith to correct the problem with the merchant, you may have the right not to pay the remaining amount due on the purchase.

To use this right, all of the following must be true:

  • The purchase must have been made in your home state or within 100 miles of your current mailing address, and the purchase price must have been more than $50.00. (These limitations do not apply if your purchase was based on an advertisement we mailed to you, or if we own the company that sold you the goods or services.)
  • You must have used your credit card for the purchase.
  • You must not yet have fully paid for the purchase.
Purchases made with cash advances from an ATM or with a check that accesses your credit card account do not qualify.
